Weir finishes in T-2nd at U.S. Senior Open

Sarnia's Mike Weir now has four second-place finishes in under a year on the PGA's senior circuit.

Weir finished in a tie for second place at the U.S. Senior Open Championship Sunday, with a final score of 4-under par.  Jim Furyk won the tournament at 7-under.

Weir entered the final round of the major tournament in a tie for fifth at 1-under, seven strokes back of Furyk.  The Bright's Grove native fired a 3-under 67 on Sunday, tied for the best round of the day.

In 20 tournaments played on the PGA Tour Champions, Weir has one victory, four runner-up finishes, ten top-10 finishes, and he hasn't missed a cut.  He joined the 50-and-over circuit last summer.

Weir won eight times on the PGA Tour including becoming the first Canadian to win a major tournament, the Masters in 2003.
