An alleged impaired boater on the St. Clair River has been charged after a vessel with multiple young passengers onboard collided into a dock.
Lambton County OPP said an off-duty officer spotted a suspected impaired boater on the Fawn Island Canal around 7:15 p.m. Saturday.
The off-duty officer arrested the boater following the collision and transported him to a boat launch where custody was transferred to on-duty officers.
Police said a 52-year-old London man provided two breath samples above the legal limit. He was charged with Operation While Impaired and Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus.
The accused will have to answer to the charges in the Ontario Court of Justice on September 13.
