Sarnia-Lambton's MPP supports Ontario Premier Doug Ford's decision directing his fellow Progressive Conservative MPPs to get a COVID-19 vaccine in order to stay in caucus.
In a statement to Blackburn News Sarnia, Bob Bailey confirmed that he is fully vaccinated.
“To support the tremendous efforts of our local health care workers over the last 18 months in fighting this pandemic, I took the first opportunity I had to get double vaccinated," said Bailey. "I believe vaccines work and I encourage everyone in Lambton County to get vaccinated at soon as possible."
Premier Ford's timeline gives PC MPPs until 5 p.m. Thursday, August 19, to disclose their vaccination status.
"I agree with the Premier that members of the government caucus should be vaccinated or provide a statement signed by a physician medically exempting them from vaccination," Bailey said.
Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MPP and Minister of Labour Monte McNaughton shared a photo on Twitter in May when he received his first dose.
Today I got #vaccinated! Happy to do my part to stop the spread of #COVID19.
