Sting hit the road for two weekend contests

The Sarnia Sting (1-2-2-0) hit the road for a pair of games this weekend in OHL hockey action.

They head to London (7-0-0-0) on Friday night before making a stop in Owen Sound (2-5-0-1) on Saturday.

The Sting are coming off a 2-1 loss on home ice to the Guelph Storm last Friday.

Head Coach Alan Letang said they've been working hard at practice.

"We're just kind of continuing what we've been doing with the little things," said Letang. "Our defensive zone coverage and special teams were kind of the difference in the Guelph game last weekend. That's been our area of focus this week."

Letang said the undefeated Knights always provide a tough test.

"Dale Hunter doesn't change the way he coaches so we know what they're going to bring," he said. "Owen Sound is very similar. They're a team that's going to work hard and compete for 50/50 pucks. We've just got to match that work ethic this weekend."

Nolan Burke leads the way for the Sting with six goals, and Ty Voit has two goals and three assists.

You can hear all of the weekend action live on CHOK with Leigh Cunningham and Patrick DesRochers.
