Rebound is looking for a fairy godmother to help store Cinderella's dresses.
The Sarnia-Lambton organization took over The Cinderella Project in 2018 with hopes of continuing the legacy of helping more teens attend prom.
But, Executive Director Carrie McEachran said they're facing a challenge, and it's storage space.
"We have approximately 250 to 300 beautiful prom dresses that the community has been so generous in donating to us, and we have been really grateful to have a storage unit that has been given to us for free, but at this point, we don't have access to that anymore," said McEachran.
McEachran said a local storage company had donated one unit and grant money helped pay for a second unit, but the grant funding has run out.
"So, we are putting a plea out to the community, wondering if somebody may have a space or some suggestions on where we could store these dresses."
McEachran hopes to keep the project alive for 2022.
"We do collect through the year. We do more of a big dress drive closer to prom dates, so that's typically early spring we'll put a dress drive out and last year we had to cancel The Cinderella Project due to COVID, and we're really hoping, we've got our fingers crossed, that we'll be able to do the project this coming spring."
Anyone interested in donating toward storage costs, or with information on a larger storage space, is asked to give Rebound a call at 519-344-2841.
