Sarnia-Lambton's MP is offering a sincere apology to all Canadians.
Marilyn Gladu has released a statement apologizing for recent comments she made regarding COVID-19 vaccines during a CTV interview.
"Upon reflection, I recognize how dangerous it is to share misinformation about the severity of COVID-19 and the safety and efficacy of vaccines," she said. "I retract these comments in full. I apologize unreservedly to Canadians. I also apologize to my caucus colleagues and Leader for the distraction my comments have created."
During a news conference Monday, Leader Erin O'Toole said the Conservative party encourages people to get vaccinated, and all MP's when they return to parliament will be respecting the rules on the hill.
"For MPs to create confusion, that's a step backwards," he said.
MP Marilyn Gladu also recently called on Bluewater Health to hire back hospital staff who were terminated for not complying with the hospital's proof of vaccination mandate.
“At the beginning of the pandemic, nurses on the front lines were wearing their PPE, there’s no evidence that they transmitted COVID-19 to patients and nobody was vaccinated at that point so I think we really need to look at reasonable accommodations before starting to think about terminating people.”
