There will be a more traditional Remembrance Day service in Sarnia Thursday.
Once again residents are invited to the cenotaph at Sarnia's Veterans Park following a procession from the Royal Canadian Legion on Front Street at 10:35 a.m.
Those who plan to attend are encouraged to follow COVID-19 safety guidelines, including social distancing.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the cenotaph at Veterans Park, and the 100th anniversary of the poppy as a symbol of Remembrance in Canada.
For those unable to attend the service, it will be broadcast live on CHOK 103.9FM/1070AM, FOX 99.9FM and COOL 106.3FM beginning at 10:45 a.m.
In 2020, the annual Remembrance Day service was moved to the Front Street Legion because of pandemic restrictions, and the procession was cancelled.
Ontario's ceremony gets underway at 10:45 a.m. at Queen's Park in Toronto, and will be hosted by Premier Doug Ford.
