2021 accessibility award winners recognized

The 2021 Sarnia Accessibility Award winners have been announced.

The awards recognize businesses and individuals who have excelled in promoting an inclusive environment and shopping experience for people with disabilities.

Sarnia's Home Depot and Moulton Optical are being recognized for creating an inclusive environment.

Firehouse Subs is being honoured for its exceptional leadership in customer service.

Brenda DiMuzio is recognized for creating opportunities for an accessible community.

The Sarnia Evangelical Missionary Church is awarded for ensuring exceptional physical accessibility for people with disabilities.

Ups N' Downs pub in the city's downtown core is honoured for going above and beyond when serving and assisting people with disabilities.

Health Counselling and Therapy is recognized for being a community leader in accessibility.

The list of accessibility champions was compiled by the City of Sarnia's Accessibility Advisory Committee after requesting nominations from the community.

A reception for the winners will be held Friday afternoon, November 12, in the Gateway Room at the St. Clair Corporate Centre from 12p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
