COVID cases up seven, recoveries up six

Active COVID-19 cases in Sarnia-Lambton increased by one Saturday morning after seven new cases and six recoveries were reported.

Lambton Public Health has confirmed 4,308 cases during the pandemic, 40 of which are active.  There have been 4,194 resolved cases and 74 COVID-related deaths.

The number of active outbreaks is at three, down one from yesterday.  Further details about the outbreak that ended were not immediately available.

Ontario reported 728 new cases Saturday, bringing the provincial seven-day average to 635, up 10 from Friday.  Sarnia-Lambton's weekly case-rate, per 100,000 population, is 15.2 — it’s the 16th highest case-rate among Ontario’s 34 public health regions.

As of Friday, there were six COVID-positive patients at Bluewater Health.
