United Way campaign wraps up Friday

There are just two days left to contribute to the Sarnia-Lambton United Way's 2021 campaign.

The organization has raised about 92 per cent of its $1.75-million target, sitting at around $1.61-million.

Executive Director Dave Brown said it doesn't appear that they'll reach this year's goal as all of the employee campaigns have wrapped up.

"We're going through the process right now of determining what agencies we'll be funding going forward and by how much," said Brown. "So, we're still waiting until we get those final campaign totals but there will be some cuts for sure."

Funds raised during the annual campaign support over 40 local programs at 20 different agencies in Lambton County.

Each funded program is chosen by community volunteers for its effectiveness in three priority areas: From Poverty to Possibility; All That Kids Can Be; and Healthy People, Strong Communities.

You can donate until midnight on Friday at www.theunitedway.on.ca or by dropping off an envelope in the mail slot at Kumon on Lambton Mall Road.
