Four licensed childcare operators have been approved to host six emergency care sites in Sarnia-Lambton.
The County of Lambton says free childcare will be offered starting Monday, January 10, to eligible frontline workers whose children are between the ages of four and 12 and enrolled in school.
Children's Services Manager Melissa Fitzpatrick said spaces are very limited and will be prioritized for medical and emergency services personnel.

The facilities offering care include; London Bridge Child Care at Holy Trinity Catholic School in Sarnia, Sombra Township Child Care's Riverview Central Public School site in Port Lambton and the YMCA's at St. Joseph's Catholic School in Corunna and St. Anne Catholic School in Sarnia.
Lambton Rural Child Care will also run programs at Brooke Central Public School in Alvinston and Errol Village Public School in Camlachie.
Fitzpatrick said the school aged childcare spaces will be filled on a ‘first-come first–served’ basis and if spaces are unavailable, the names of eligible children will be kept on a waitlist.
Students across Ontario, including Lambton-Kent, return to virtual learning on Wednesday.
