LPH reports 39th COVID death of 2022

Lambton Public Health has reported another COVID-related death in the community.

In its daily update Thursday, the health unit reported the death toll since the start of the pandemic has risen to 122 -- 39 have been reported in 2022.

The health unit said the individual who passed away was a local nursing home resident in their 80s.

The health unit reported 61 new lab confirmed cases, up to 9,560 since March 2020. There were 39 more cases deemed resolved, up to 9,275, increasing the number of known active infections by 21 to 163.

There are four active outbreaks, unchanged from Wednesday.

Bluewater Health reported 12 COVID-positive patients in hospital, up three. There is one positive patient in the ICU.

Lambton Public Health will stop providing daily COVID updates on February 23, and instead will update its website on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
