Sting win in Saginaw

The Sarnia Sting won its third game in a row with a 6-3 victory over the Spirit in Saginaw Saturday.

Brights Grove's Nolan DeGurse (14) opened the scoring for the Sting at the 5:46 of the first period assisted by Ethan Ritchie and Ty Voit.

Less than a minute later, Marko Sikic (8) made it 2-0 Sarnia with assists going to DeGurse and Zach Filak.

Josh Vogelsburg (2) scored for the Sting eight minutes into the second period assisted by DeGurse and Nolan Dann.

At 12:21 Ritchie tallied for Sarnia on the power play with assists going to Dann and Voit followed less than a minute later with a goal from Max Namestsnikov (7) assisted by Ritchie.

The Spirit mounted a comeback in the third period with goals from Pavel Mintyukov, Ian Phillips and Josh Bloom before DeGurse (15) scored his second of the game.

Benjamin Gaudreau made 22 saves for Sarnia while Spirit goalie Andrew Oke blocked 28 shots.

The Sarnia Sting host Flint Monday at 2:05 p.m., with the pregame show starting at 1:30 p.m. on CHOK (103.9FM/1070AM).
