The Sarnia-Lambton community continues to show support for those in Ukraine as another public service is planned for this weekend.
An interfaith community “Prayers for Ukraine” gathering is scheduled to take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday at All Saints Anglican Church, located at 248 Vidal St. North in Sarnia.
Revered Paul Woolley said like many, he felt compelled to do something after watching the situation in Ukraine unfold.
"I think by watching it, you get to the point where you feel like this is horrible and I wish I could do something," he said. "The best thing we can do is, first of all, is pray about it."
A free-will offering will be collected for International Red Cross Humanitarian Aid. Tax deductible receipts will be mailed out for donations of $20 or more.
The service is expected to be about 40 minutes in length.
Local services to show solidarity with Ukraine were previously held at the Petrolia Legion and at St. George’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Sarnia.
Russian forces invaded Ukraine nearly a month ago.
