A sweet fundraiser is in the bag after hundreds of donuts were sold through the inaugural We Are United for Donuts campaign.
Sarnia-Lambton’s United Way partnered with Global Donuts & Deli for the campaign, which was held on Wednesday.
The custard-filled donuts were initially expected to be available until 10 p.m. but by 5 p.m., they were sold out.
Executive Director Dave Brown said 1,700 donuts were sold.
"Thank you again and thank you to the amazing Global Donuts team for hitting it out of the ballpark," read a tweet by Brown.
United Way donuts were "flying off the shelves" read one of Brown's tweets and new special donuts were restocked during the day.
Thank you to everybody who bought donuts from @GlobaldonutsD . We now have new United Way donuts in stock as shown below. We are so appreciative of all the support. pic.twitter.com/HPAcEYg5R0
