Members of Unifor Local 999 have ratified a contract with Enbridge Gas.
The company entered into negotiations with the union on Friday and reached a four-year tentative agreement. Members voted on the agreement in two groups on Monday.
Unit Chair of Local 999-STO Stacey Renaud said 102 members out of 107 voted and 81 per cent were in favour of the deal, which expires at the end 2024.
"Unionized employees are valued members of our workforce and the successful outcome of these negotiations, reflects our common goal of a workplace that is safe, stable, and grounded in our core company of integrity and respect," said Enbridge Manager of External Communications and Media Relations Andrea Stass in an email.
Workers walked off the job on May 25, citing inadequate compensation.
In an emailed statement, Renaud said there were no concessions for the group.
Local 999 represents more than 100 workers at the storage, transmission, and operations at Enbridge Gas facilities in Ontario.
Renaud said the union's technicians have a date scheduled to continue their negotiations next week with the agreement that their strike action be delayed. No further details could be provided at this time.
