As the warm weather sets in, residents can enjoy the fresh air while visiting Sarnia's new Mitton Village Parkette.
The outdoor space opened to the public on June 10.
The City of Sarnia launched the parkette project in March, in partnership with Diversity Ed. Safer Spaces Canada and the Mitton Village Community Development Advisory Committee.
Funding for the project was provided through a $30,000 non-repayable grant from the federal government’s Canada Healthy Community Initiative.
The parkette includes some minor landscaping and eight picnic tables that were painted by local artists.
The parkette is located at 135 Mitton St. S.
