Rebound is once again looking for a space to store dresses and other formal wear.
After asking for help from the community last fall, St. Paul's United Church offered storage space for The Cinderella Project, which provides students with free prom and graduation dresses.
But, the church held its final service last month and closed its doors.
Volunteer Coordinator Nicole McLean said that means they need to start their search all over again, and hopefully find a longer term solution.
"We have about 1,400 dresses that we need storage for," said McLean. "We're looking for about 1,000 square feet to store them in, in rolling racks. We're even thinking of partnering with another organization, or something like that, trying to find some kind of long-term solution for the space."
McLean said they would also love to find a space to host the event.
"We do a boutique for The Cinderella Project. Once a year, usually in the spring sometime in April or early May. But really, storage is our main focus, and that would just be a happy coincidence if that worked out as well."
McLean said eventually, they'd love to be able to offer suits to youth as well to offer more options.
"Going through these big milestones, you want to be there, along with all of your peers and some of the youth in our community find themselves in a situation where they're not able to afford to get all of the things you may need, such as the dresses and your hair done, and your nails, and all of the things that seem to come along with these big events. So, we're here to help the youth connect to all of these things."
The Sarnia-Lambton organization took over The Cinderella Project in 2018.
"It's a program that we really do love and think it's very necessary," McLean said. "Everyone loves it and benefits from it. So, we would love to keep it around."
