The next phase of improvements at Tecumseh Park in Sarnia are up for discussion on Monday.
City council will consider the tender for construction of a skateboard park, which includes ramps, rails and a bowl, during its upcoming meeting.
Mayor Mike Bradley said 75 per cent of the roughly $610,000 project cost is covered by a provincial grant.
"This is the Norma Cox park that she developed with that $1 million grant that she developed back with the city about 15 years ago," said Bradley. "So, this is enhancing the legacy, which has just done wonders for that neighbourhood and that part of the city.
Bradley hopes there is an opportunity for local youth to have input in the final design.
"I would like to see that the young people in the community, the prime users of this, would give their input into what they want in that park, not be told by a consultant or by city council what should be in the park," he said.
Monday's council meeting begins at 1 p.m.
