Occasional lotto player banks $198K

A Sarnia woman who decided to buy a Lotto 6/49 ticket "out of the blue" has won $198,188.

Paula Horvatich, 51, won big during the June 29 Lotto 6/49 draw.

The occasional lottery player purchased the winning ticket at Esso Refresh on Capel Street in Sarnia.

While picking up her winnings at the prize centre in Toronto, the retail worker shared details about the moment when she realized she had won.

"I was at the store checking my ticket when I heard a sound I've never heard before," she said in an OLG release. “It felt like such a chaotic moment with all the activity in the store.”

Horvatich shared the news with her brother who initially thought she was joking.

"I feel happy. This is crazy,” she said with tears in her eyes as she received her cheque. “I can't wait to take this to the bank."

Horvatich plans to invest for her future and purchase a car.
