Museums dig into oil history during virtual talk

Museums in Oil Springs and Titusville, Pennsylvania will take part in a virtual talk on Thursday night to discuss the petroleum industry.

The Oil Museum of Canada will host a virtual discussion with Drake Well Museum on August 18 at 7 p.m.

Drake Well Museum educator Sarah Goodison will highlight the site's contributions to oil history on a global scale. Comparisons will also be made in regards to the Oil Museum of Canada.

“The similarities and differences between the two sites highlight the unique paths each took towards industrial development of their natural petroleum resources," said Oil Museum Education Program Coordinator Christina Sydorko. "While the two sites might be separated by geography and an international border, they share an innovative entrepreneurial spirit.”

The virtual talk is free to take part in but preregistration is required.
