A grassroots Mitton Village committee is hosting its 4th annual Block Party Saturday.
Member Chrissy McRoberts said part of Mitton Street will be closed for the event.
"We're a non-profit, so we have artists that come in and they just pay enough for the fee to cover the canopies and the tables," said McRoberts.
She said artists and vendors will be set up from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
"We have a children's activity area, where there will be chalk painting, water balloon fights, and a dance party for the kids. So it's very family friendly."
Live music is scheduled throughout the day and night, to the south of Maud's Variety, at Mitton and Kathleen Avenue.
"We've rented a band stand and we have bands that are playing. There's eight of them. One after the other, every hour, in the afternoon."
A political candidate zone is also planned for residents to meet the individuals running for Sarnia council in the October 24 municipal election.
McRoberts is one of nine people seeking one of four city/county councillor positions.
