A local charitable organization teed up some funds to donate towards an important cause.
During the second annual Guardian Angels Golf Tournament at Kingswell Glen Golf Course in Petrolia on Wednesday, representatives of the Sexual Assault Survivors Centre (SASC) were presented a $6,000 donation.
"We are extremely proud of the results of our second Annual Golf Tournament fundraising effort, and we are pleased to announce that we are already booked at Kingswell Glen Golf Course for our 3rd Annual Golf Tournament on August 12, 2023," a release from Guardian Angels Lambton read.
The advocacy group said it used last year's donation to educate youth between 10 and 20-years-old with age appropriate presentations regarding human trafficking including awareness of red flags, luring, grooming, exploitation, healthy relationships and consent. SASC said it will continue its work with a goal to end violence against women and children by working with survivors of sexual assault and human trafficking victims.
Following another year of success, Guardian Angels said that it has started to plan for next year's event and has booked the golf course for August 12, 2023.
