Hate crime at fall fair under investigation

Lambton OPP is investigating a hate crime, alleged to have happened at the Petrolia and Enniskillen Fall Fair over the weekend.

In a twitter post, OPP say it's believed to have happened sometime overnight Saturday.

In a post on Facebook, Truckin Mamas On the Run said a noose with a pride flag in it was found on the food truck Sunday morning.

The Petrolia and Enniskillen Fall Fair took to its Facebook page to condemn the act.

"We are absolutely disgusted by this hateful act," read the post. "The Petrolia fair is for everyone! We love and support our LGBTQ2S+ community and we want you to know that despite this hateful act our fair is a safe place for you and we will work hard to make sure this remains a safe place for everyone!"

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or Sarnia-Lambton Crime Stoppers at 1-8000-222-TIPS (8477).
