At around 5:30 a.m., police were contacted about a theft from a construction vehicle on Mara Street in Point Edward.

Among the items taken was an Instrotek Xplorer 3500, a device used to measure the density of asphalt, which contains hazardous components if tampered with.

After numerous tips, police arrested a 22-year-old Sarnia man and charged him with theft over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and mischief under $5,000.
