Lambton College is hosting a Rural Employer Showcase Thursday, September 15.
College Job Developer Kyle Walker said there will be a wide variety of opportunities available.
"We have over 25 different employers that will be participating with several opportunities at each business. We have everything from customer service to technical positions, opportunities to engage with the trades and then also some positions available within the healthcare industry."
Walker said businesses from Petrolia, Wyoming, Thedford, Watford, Forest, Camlachie, and Corunna are hiring in all service industries.
Walker believes there are more opportunities for job seekers now than there were during the height of the pandemic.
"We saw people being laid off, we saw businesses that we're closing. However, now that we are outside of that height of the pandemic and things are starting to return to normal, we are seeing that industries are starting to bounce back and companies are starting to hire so that they can serve the community and start to rebuild their workforce."
Walker said the event, taking place throughout the community, will feature over 50 part time and full time jobs.
