The Sarnia-Lambton 2022 United Way campaign is hoping to keep up the momentum in the weeks ahead.
Executive Director Dave Brown said $412,000 has been raised, which is 25 per cent of the $1.65 million target.
He said so far, over 1,000 people have contributed to the fundraising effort.
"Last week was a big week of course with the Day of Caring and the overall campaign kickoff," said Brown. "Right now we're still focusing on kicking off more employee campaigns. We're looking at doing a follow up letter to those people who have donated in previous years but so far, not yet this year."
He said they're also working on a new initiative to help boost the campaign.
"We're just kicking off a small, little test United Way auction at www.uwauction.ca," he said. "We've got about five or six items, a lot of Sarnia Sting games and what not, just to start off this new auction platform that we've got, just to see if it works. We've done online auctions within some of the workplaces, but never a community wide one. So, we're eagerly anticipating positive results."
The United Way of Sarnia-Lambton funds 17 agencies providing over 31 programs and services to the community.
