Advance polls open in Sarnia ahead of municipal election

Starting at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Sarnia residents can cast an advance ballot in the October 24 municipal election.

Votes can be cast online all the way up until election night, at 8 p.m. October 24.

There are two names on the ballot for Sarnia mayor, nine candidates vying for four city/county councillor positions, and 25 people in the running for the four additional council seats.

Residents will also be electing school board trustees.

Voter information letters, which should have already arrived in the mail, will be needed to cast a ballot. If you didn't get a letter, or your information needs to be updated, go to www.sarnia.ca/voterslist.

Those who need help voting online, can head to the voter help centre at Sarnia City Hall. It's located on the first floor and open to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., seven days a week, from October 14 to 23.

On election day, October 24, the centre will be open 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., and votes can be cast in-person at one of nine polling stations.

Residents can also call 1-877-472-7642 for support.
