Sarnia students re-elect Bradley in close mock vote

Mike Bradley was declared the winner of a close race for Sarnia mayor in the city's mock student vote Monday.

The incumbent received 728 votes, only 91 more than challenger Nathan Colquhoun.

Sarnia students elected fellow incumbent councillors Margaret Bird, Bill Dennis, Mike Stark and Brian White to the four city/county councillor positions.

Four new councillors were elected to city council. Adam Beck, Robert Dickieson, Adam Kilner and Tammy Mathieson received the most votes.

Across Sarnia-Lambton, 23 schools participated in the Student Vote program run by CIVIX.

King George VI Elementary School Grade 4/5 teacher Susan Shaw said her students had spent the past few weeks learning about the candidates and about the electoral process.

Mike Bradley was re-elected to an 11th term in Sarnia's actual municipal election Monday.
