The Sarnia Sting's annual Teddy Bear Toss game is set for Sunday December 4th, as the Sting host the Barrie Colts at Progressive Auto Sales Arena.
When the Sting score their first goal, thousands of stuffed animals will be thrown onto the ice in support of local charities, including the Salvation Army and Inn of the Good Shepherd.
Sting spokesman Jake Bourrie said they'd love to collect at least 5,000 toys.
"We've already had a good start," said Bourrie. "PetSmart has already stepped up and made a big donation, so we're getting there. We know that Sarnia-Lambton really comes out for this game and they'll help us reach our goal."
To date over 75,000 stuffed toys have been collected and distributed to homes across our community.
Previous Teddy Bear Toss goal scorers include Nolan Burke, Sean Josling, Jamieson Rees, Steven Stamkos and Anthony DeAngelo.
Puck drop is set for 2 p.m.
Those who aren't able to attend the game can make a donation at Finch Ford Lincoln in Sarnia.
