Fundraiser set up for Harkness Street fire victims

Sarnia Fire and Rescue says a fire on Harkness Street Tuesday afternoon has been deemed accidental, and electrical in nature.

Fire crews, along with Sarnia police, responded to the blaze at around 1 p.m.

Damage is estimated at around $280,000.

No one was home at the time. The family arrived to find smoke coming from the building and called 911.

Sadly, a dog and a cat died in the fire.

A Go Fund Me page has been set up to help the victims, a couple with girls two and eight-years old, recover in time for the holidays.
