Sudbury Wolves top Sarnia Sting 3-2

The Sarnia Sting couldn’t find the back of the net in a 3-2 loss against the Sudbury Wolves on Friday night.

The team was coming off a big win Thursday over the North Bay Battalion.

The Sting struck early in the second period when Marcus Limpar-Lantz snapped a shot inside the far post at 1:49 into the period.

Sudbury replied with back-to-back goals by Chase Coughlan and Quentin Musty, about two minutes apart, to take a 3-1 lead.

Zach Filak scored for the Sting in the third period but the team couldn’t get another shot past Nate Krawchuk despite outshooting the Wolves 13-4 in the final period.

The Sting were 10-3-0-0 in 2023 going into Friday’s game in Sudbury.

The Sting  remain in third place in the Western Conference. They’re one point ahead of the Owen Sound Attack, who lost Friday in Mississauga.

The team will look to make up Friday's loss Sunday afternoon in Sault Ste. Marie when they take on the Greyhounds.

The game can be heard on CHOK (1070 AM/103.9 FM) starting at 1:30 p.m. Puck drop for Sunday's game is at 2 p.m.
