Damage is estimated around $150,000 after a fire sparked in the kitchen of an apartment unit in Sarnia.
Fire crews were called to an apartment complex on Earlscourt Drive on Monday, just after midnight.
Sarnia Fire Public Education Officer Mike Otis said four crews attended the scene.
"It appears to be accidental, caused by unattended cooking," said Otis. "The damage appears to be mostly contained to one unit, some in the hallway and then smoke damage throughout the hallways."
The entire apartment complex was evacuated and all tenants were forced to seek temporary shelter.
Fire crews were at the apartment complex on Tuesday.
It's unclear when residents will be able to return home.
City fire crews also responded to a small garage fire on Devine Street, near East Street, just after 11 a.m. Saturday.
The service said "due to a quick response" firefighters were able to prevent it from spreading to the neighbouring houses.
There were no injuries reported.
Sarnia Fire and Rescue Services and the Sarnia Police Service were investigating.
