A large freighter attracted some attention in the St. Clair River south of Sarnia over the weekend.
The Algoma Innovator was stopped very close to the shoreline, in the area of Aamjiwnaang First Nation, Saturday morning, leading many area residents to suspect that it ran aground.

Canadian Coast Guard Central and Arctic Region spokesperson Jeremy Hennessy tells Sarnia News Today that the vessel did not run aground.
"It dropped its anchor to carry out repairs in its engine room," said Hennessy. "There was no pollution or injuries."
He said the ship was repaired and was sailing again Monday.
The Innovator is a 650-foot self-unloading dry-bulk carrier.
It entered service in the Great Lakes trading area in the 2018 shipping season.
