Indigenous culture was on full display on Thursday, as Lambton College hosted its 28th annual Pow Wow.
Director of Indigenous Education Jane Manning called the event a great chance to educate residents about the First Nations community.
"When the Indigenous student council initially wanted to host that very first Pow Wow nearly 30 years ago, it was really about creating awareness about Indigenous people and building appreciation. And really combatting, sometimes, some negative narratives that are out there."
Manning said the celebration included drummers, dancers, food and art vendors.
"With spring here, we really celebrate that newness," she said. "It's about the newness of life and just seeing our friends and acquaintances again, making new friends, and coming together in a celebratory way."
The event took place from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Athletics and Fitness Complex, kicking off with the traditional Grand Entry.
Everyone was welcome to attend.
