An overnight fire in the area of Mandaumin Road and Confederation Line has caused a significant amount of damage to a house and left it "a full write-off."
The Petrolia and North Enniskillen Fire Departments assisted the Plympton Wyoming Fire Department after the blaze was reported shortly after midnight on Wednesday.
Petrolia Fire Chief Jay Arns said the house was unoccupied at the time.
"The house was already pretty well destroyed by the time crews got there," he said.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and the damage estimate is expected to be substantial, possibly in the range of $500,000.
Arns said fire crews may remain at the scene for most of Wednesday morning.
Residents were asked to avoid the area.
