Lambton OPP say the quick action by local boaters over the weekend prevented a scary situation from getting worse.

OPP were contacted at around 12:30 p.m. Saturday about a boat in distress on Lake Huron near Ipperwash Beach. A vessel was quickly taking on water and was sinking.
Local boaters in the area were able to respond to the distress call and confirm the safety of all parties involved, eliminating the need for immediate police response.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
Lambton OPP are offering a huge thank you to the folks who stopped what they were doing and responded to the call for help.
