UPDATE: Area police kept busy over long weekend

Area police had a steady Victoria Day holiday weekend responding to calls for service.

Lambton OPP was busy on the water, responding to 10 marine incidents from Friday, May 19 to Monday, May 22. Police said none of those calls resulted in any charges or injuries.

In total, Lambton OPP issued 101 charges and 133 warnings over the long weekend, including 54 speeding tickets, and 28 other provincial charges (such as liquor licence or trespassing).

Initially, OPP said four impaired driving charges were laid, but later said there were nine impaired driving-related charges.

Provincial police officers also responded to five noise complaints.

In the city, Sarnia police responded to five motor vehicle collisions.

City police were also called to 21 disturb the peace calls and eight noise complaints.
