Over 100 exhibitor booths will be set up at the Pat Stapleton Arena on Wednesday for the Sarnia-Lambton Age-Friendly Expo.
After a three year hiatus, the Age-Friendly Expo will return on June 14 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., held in partnership between the City of Sarnia, Lambton Elderly Outreach, and County of Lambton.
Age Friendly Sarnia-Lambton Committee Co-Chair Amy Weiler said the event is geared toward all ages.
"Whether you're a 40-year-old looking for supports for your children or maybe your aging parents need help, and you're looking to find them something to do in the community or health support... it will be at the expo," said Weiler.
She said there will also be a dedicated youth area this year in order to appeal to more residents.
Some of the support services that will be highlighted at the event are related to mental health, housing, transportation, and health supports.
The expo is free to attend. Weiler said there will be giveaways, table draws, and raffles as well.
Parking will be available at the arena, however, organizers are keeping those spaces for attendees who need them most. Alternatively, a free shuttle service will be available from Starlight Casino in Point Edward throughout the day.
Meanwhile, June is recognized as Seniors Month in Ontario.
On June 21, the City of Sarnia will host a Seniors Month celebration at the Strangway Centre.
Free garden tours will be held at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. The Strangway Ukulele Ensemble will also offer free performances, beginning at 1 p.m.
