A new face to join Point Edward Council

A vacant seat on Point Edward Council has been filled.

During its meeting on Wednesday, the village council opted to appoint the seat to the candidate who came in fifth in the October, 2022 municipal election.

Arianna Noctor, who received 345 votes, behind Lauren Drury's 377 for the fourth councillor position, has accepted the role.

When running in the election last fall, Noctor said she believed her background in leadership, innovation and policy development would provide a unique perspective and fresh voice to council.

The 29-year-old has an Honours Bachelor's Degree in Law and Society from Wilfrid Laurier University and is the General Manager at Planet Fitness in Sarnia.

Noctor will officially be sworn in at council's June 27 meeting.

The seat became available when former councillor Lauren Drury submitted her resignation to pursue a career opportunity in Ottawa.
