Summer reading program registration underway

Registration opens Monday for Lambton County Library's summer reading program.

Youth Programs and Outreach Public Services Coordinator Vanitia Campbell said this year’s theme is 'An Ocean of Possibilities' for children under 12 and 'Make Waves' for teens 13 to 17 years old.

Adults can also participate in a summer reading program, themed 'Challenge Yourshelf'.

“The summer reading program encourages reading, imagination, outdoor engagement, and community involvement,” said Campbell. “Participating in the summer reading program aids in learning skills outside of the classroom.”

To join the reading challenge you're asked to create an account with Beanstack, an electronic reporting software that can be accessed using a mobile device, a computer, or with the help of library staff at any location.

Once registered, participants can pick up their registration kits from any Lambton County Library location during operating hours.

Activities, games, and challenges will launch on July 3 and continue into August.
