Two sent to hospital in Sarnia stabbings

Sarnia police are investigating a pair of serious stabbings in the city's downtown area Friday night.

The Sarnia Police Service – Community Response Division responded to an assault at 11:01 p.m. at the 7-11 on Christina Street North.

Police were told an altercation had just occurred in the parking lot between several youths and the suspect had fled the scene.

Upon arrival, officers determined a 16-year-old male had been stabbed and required immediate medical attention for serious injuries to his torso and arm.

A 16-year-old female also sustained a minor injury to her hand.

Lambton EMS transported both victims to Bluewater Health for treatment. The male victim was then taken to hospital in London. The female victim was treated and released.

Minutes later officers were called to a stabbing at a private residence. Upon arrival officers located a 17-year-old male who suffered stab wounds to his torso.

Police allege the victim was connected to the Christina Street incident. He was taken to Bluewater Health and then transferred to London hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Police said the stabbings are believed to be an isolated incident and the parties are known to each other.
