An Ottawa area man has been charged with impaired driving following a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) check in Pinery Provincial Park.
Lambton OPP were set up conducting the program Sunday, July 16, at around 8:30 p.m.
Police said when the driver entered the checkpoint and spoke with the officers, it allegedly became apparent he had consumed an alcoholic beverage.
The driver provided a sample of breath into an Alcohol Screening Device (ASD), was taken into custody, and transported to a Lambton OPP detachment where two samples over the legal limit were provided.
A 51-year-old man from Nepean has been charged with Operation While Impaired - with a blood alcohol concentration over 80.
The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
