Sarnia's Seaway Kiwanis Club has announced the latest round of funding recipients through its popular TV Bingo program.
A total of $2,500 is being put toward Special Olympics programs.
That includes $1,000 each for the Jumpstart Teen Transition Program, and the ICAN bike program.
The Jumpstart program helps youth with disabilities make the shift from high school to adulthood. It gives them additional support and funding to access training, education, transportation or employment.
Transition planning involves the entire family, local service providers, school personnel and government staff.
The ICAN bike program helps children and youth with special needs learn how to ride a bicycle.
It uses unique adapted bicycles to help participants gain the skills and confidence they need to gradually transition to a regular two-wheeled bike.
A new soccer team will also be launched at Alexander MacKenzie Secondary School.
