'Sting Assists' local charities and groups with grants

Over 20 local groups and organizations received a grant from Sting Assists.

The Sarnia Sting Community Fund handed out a record total of $265,000 including $10,000 to North Lambton Secondary School towards a tournament sized wrestling mat.

Other groups that received funds included St. Vincent De Paul, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Noelle's Gift, Lambton Jr AAA Sting Hockey and Sarnia Ice Hawks Sledge Hockey.

Grants were also awarded to The Haven Youth Shelter, Pathways Health Centre for Children and St. Child and Youth.

Sting Assists is made up of volunteers that sell 50/50 tickets at Sarnia Sting games.
