Sarnia-Lambton United Way campaign surpasses $600K

In three weeks, the Sarnia-Lambton United Way campaign has raised about $620,000.

Executive Director Dave Brown said that's about 41 per cent of the $1.4 million needs target.

"We're continuing to make gains week over week and we're continuing to track about $10,000 to $15,000 over last year's pace so, so far so good," said Brown.

He said a number of employee campaigns are launching this week.

"NOVA is kicking off with more barbecues for their employee campaigns and the St. Clair Catholic District School Board is also kicking off early this week," he said.

Brown said they will also be reaching out to past donors this week.

"Our mail campaign is continuing to do very well," said Brown. "We're just mailing out tomorrow [Wednesday] our follow up mailings to those people who have donated in the past but not yet this year. But so far, they're coming in strong."

A total of 17 local agencies receive funding from the United Way, including BGC Sarnia-Lambton, Inn of the Good Shepherd and Habitat for Humanity.
