No injuries after fire breaks out in bedroom

No injuries were reported following a fire Monday afternoon at a two-storey house in the area of Michigan Avenue and Christina Street North.

Sarnia Fire Rescue, Sarnia police, and Lambton EMS were called to the fire at around 1:40 p.m.

Sarnia Fire Public Education Officer Mike Otis said three stations responded and crews quickly extinguished the blaze. No one was inside the house when crews arrived.

Firefighters remained at the scene for approximately four hours.

The fire started in a bedroom and caused "significant damage" to the room and left smoke residue throughout the home.

Otis said the cause is undetermined.

A damage estimate was unavailable.
