Three Sarnia Sting players are included on NHL Central Scouting’s preliminary players to watch list ahead of the 2024 draft.
Defenceman Lukas Fischer is a "B" rated prospect, which means he's a candidate to be selected in the second or third round of the draft.
The 17-year-old Brighton, Michigan native has two goals and six assists in 10 games this season.
He had 10 points in 47 games in his rookie year after coming over from the USHL's Cedar Rapids RoughRiders.
Both defenceman Mitch Young and goaltender Karsen Chartier are listed as "players to watch", meaning they're projected to be taken in either the 6th or 7th round.
Young, an 18-year-old Elmira native, has three goals and six assists in 10 games.
Chartier started his first OHL game on Friday night in the Sting's 3-2 overtime win in Niagara.
Last season, he posted a 1.38 GAA in 14 games played with the Burlington Eagles U18 AAA team.
A total of 161 players from around the Canadian Hockey League are included on the list, including 62 from the Ontario Hockey League.
The OHL's "A" rated prospects, who are first round candidates, are Sam Dickinson (London), Liam Greentree (Windsor), Henry Mews (Ottawa), Zayne Parekh (Saginaw), and Beckett Sennecke (Oshawa).
The 2024 NHL draft is scheduled for June in Las Vegas.
