The Municipality of Lambton Shores is hosting an open house on Thursday, December 14 to go over the feasibility of a Grand Bend Community Centre.
Monteith Brown Planning Consultants Ltd. was hired in June to develop a feasibility study for the proposed indoor recreation centre.
Lambton Shores Mayor Doug Cook said this will be the community's first opportunity to look at preliminary plans.
"Nothing's actually been [put] pen to paper as far as actual design or size of the centre yet," said Cook. "They'll have dates of what's going to be happening and that's kind of where we're at right now, we're just in the informative state of getting this program up and started."
Cook said they're hoping to gain input from residents, feedback forms will be available during the open house.
Although the project has council support, it's too early for dollars to be budgeted for the centre.
"The committee's done some research already from other facilities that they're looking at, so they're hoping to use that as sort of a concept to move forward with this one," Cook said. "Council's on board [with the idea] and it's just a matter of seeing how much the community involvement will show us when we get started."
The open house will take place from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Grand Bend Place, located on Main Street West.
