Former Sarnia Sting forward Marko Sikic has found a new home.
After wrapping up his Ontario Hockey League career over the weekend, he has signed with the ECHL's Newfoundland Growlers for the rest of the season.
The Kitchener native joins former Sting captain Nolan Dillingham, who is in his first season with the Growlers. Ty Voit is also on the squad, but had season-ending shoulder surgery.
Sikic, who just turned 21, led the Sting with 57 points this past season, including dishing out 39 assists.
Overall, he scored 41 goals and added 94 helpers across 177 regular season games in a Sting uniform after being acquired from Guelph in 2021-22.
The Growlers resume their final road trip of the season on Wednesday night as they take on the Worcester Railers in a game with serious playoff implications in the North Division.
Sikic is expected to join the team in Worcester.
The Growlers are an affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
